The Body Shop Rainforest Shine

The most effective and best value shampoo and conditioner duo I’ve come accross to date.  My first ‘proper’ shampoo and conditioner were The Body Shop’s Olive range. When they discontinued this I was dubious until it was immediately followed by the rainforest range.

What’s so special about it then!? WELL… The whole range is free from silicones, sulphates, parabens and colorants. The products are also completely bio-degradable in water which means that it wont float around in our planets water system which can cause damage to marine life as water leaves our houses and ultimately ends back up into our rivers and seas. Apparently, and I want to know how they did their research on this, but 10/10 Mermaids prefer it! Now that’s a pretty special test group, but I’m fully prepared to accept this!

So, the main ingredients are pracaxi oil, caméline seed oil and Community Trade olive oil, sugar, and aloe vera. These all make up for a completely weightless hair care range that will not leave your hair feeling flat and lank, but quite the opposite, light, bouncy and incredibly healthy.

TOP TIP: Once a week, shampoo your hair without applying water, as there are oils in the product and water and oils don’t mix do they, so by doing this, you get all the goodness into your hair for a thorough cleanse. Obviously you’ll need a little more product to do this, and as I said, just once a week as you can over do it if you do more, but it makes a huge difference.

So with all these fabulous Community Fair Trade ingredients, finely sourced from around the world, as well as the research and development it takes to make the product massively effective with it still being 100% biodegradable, it must be expensive? You’d think so right. The shampoo and conditioner at 400ml are £6 each! Ridiculous!

If you’ve been watching any Mary Portas lately, you’ll know she spoke about value not just meaning that a product is cheap, but that it has a lot more impact than that. This product helps sustain businesses in parts of the world that need the support whilst being incredibly environmentally conscious. What else would you expect from The Body Shop?

So now I’ve told you all this, I fully expect you to be clicking the link at the bottom of this post and ordering yourself some because its definitely worth a try.
